Do you have diabetes? My SO has had type 1 diabetes for 25 yrs. and when his blood sugar gets low his tongue gets numb and occasionally his vision gets blurry too, and sometimes he sees double. If you haven't been diagnosed, at least it's a place to start. Please contact your doctor!
