According to a report on Dark Horizons it looks like ther will be a third Tomb Raider film:

"Angelina Jolie will be reprising her role as Lara Croft in "Tomb Raider 3" reports Britain's The Daily Express.

Jolie will be required to start training almost immediately after her new child's birth. Jolie is currently residing in Nambia with Brad Pitt and their two adopted children awaiting the birth of their child.

The creator of the game and character, Ian Livingstone told the newspaper that "Paramount has optioned it and Angelina has agreed to star in the third", whilst a source added "Angelina is already in training to make sure she gets rid of her post-pregnancy bulge. She wants to be in tip-top shape and look better in Lara's outfit than ever".

Despite both previous "Tomb Raider" films getting a critical drubbing, the films took in $274 million and $156 million in their theatrical runs and did booming business on DVD. The gaming franchise, which suffered from poor sequels, bounced back in recent weeks with the new release "Tomb Raider: Legend" landing in top sales spots around the globe and enjoying very good reviews.

Jolie is also presently attached to a variety of projects including two further sequels next year - "Sin City 2" and "Ocean's Thirteen"."

I liked the first one .. the second left me a little cold .. but Angelina was fabulous as Lara Croft in both, if this is true i cant wait to see what they come up with.]

I do wish theyed lost the dodgy male love interests in both movies though, they added nothing and in no Tomb Raider game does Lara have a love interest ..

maybe its a bit of eye candy to attract the female viewer!! :p ok i watched it as i like Tomb Raider and so does hubby so wouldnt have cared if there was a love interest or not but there would be many who would possibly go with a boyfriend not giving a flying fig about watching it but the love interest would give them something to bother about and ogle! :p

Saw the first on BBC three the other night thought it was great. You know the butler that guy from the BBC sitcom the Brittas Empire was he in the second movie and if so do you think he will be in the new film. I've not seen the second but thought he played the part really well.

Think Dark Horizons are a little misinformed there... Ian Livingstone is actually the money man... Toby Gard created the game and character. Be good to see another movie, perhaps a little like the first movie but with a half-decent plot behind it - the action set-pieces in this one are top-notch... no more shark-punching though... please...

I enjoyed the first film, but didn't quite get into the second one as much. Possibly because I only watched the second one once while it was on at cinemas, whereas I have the first one on DVD.

I would be interested to see a third one, though. :)
