Tomahawk (WI) Fall Ride 2010 ??

I was gonna ask this in the events folder but it looks pretty empty there. Anyways, for all of you who attend this event, have you heard anything about The MoCo pulling out their sponsorship this year? Rumor has it that their will be no H-D demos at Sara park and that vendors will not be in attendance. Some say that H-D was asked to pick up the security $$ and they refused. It appears that the "event" is being shifted to Bubbas campground. I've been going to this for the last 5 years and it's a pretty good time. Wausau H-D is apparently confirming this. The Fall Ride website is pretty vague other than saying the bands/bon fire will be taking place. Can anyone in the know shed some light on this? Troop

I am planning on being there Friday. I look forward to the the demos, but if they are not there. Oh well. It is a mistake of the factory to not have them. I have been riding my 51 pan for the last 20 years & never even thought about buying a new one, until I took the 2009 for a ride in tomahawk. I went to Northern Lakes HD & bought a new one the weekend after the fall ride & even used my $10 off chrome cash they gave me for going on the demos. I am going to try to have a good time anyway.

Dam!!! We always have fun at the demos.
Years back we always camped down at Sara Park and they left the arena open all night. That was nice.
Camped at the Race Track with Bubba and now at his new location.
Things will always change because it's all about money.

Tomahawk Chamber of Commerce verified that H-D will not be at Sara Park this year. They can cite economics all they want but rumors are swirling about a rift between H-D/City regarding security costs and who's not paying what. With attendance growing to 50K plus over the last few years you can bet many thousands are going to be rather disappointed to find out that no test rides will be available. Attendees are entitled to know but the Chamber/Bubba don't want to slash their $$ either. Northern Lights H-D will have a 2011 display at Bubbas but big deal. While it's true most dealers allow test rides, it was kind of nice to ride as many different models as you want. Hell, I'd ride 10 different bikes within a couple of hours. Their 10 mile loop was a nice little route to test the bikes out. Oh well, maybe next year...

It's a big bummer they won't be there. HD moved their demo's from Rapid City to Sturgis proper this year to "get closer to the customer"..... how's this for getting closer? Weather permitting (last year especially), Tomahawk is my favorite ride of the year.

What's the camping like at Bubba's by the way? Wife and I are thinking of heading there this year.

Kind of pricey if you are just wanting camping.
But if you take in all the bands and food and venders.....it's GREAT!!!

The only thing that will damper it is the weather, remember 2 or 3 years ago it SNOWED!!!!

Wausau HD is usually a good place to stop and see bikes, they even sponsored demo rides two weekends ago. The ad they had for their demo's even said NO DEMOS in Tomahawk for the Fall Ride. Bubba's was showing free admission on at least one of the days which I think was Saturday until 5pm. It is/will be a good time with or without the demo's, weather permitting!
