Can someone explain to me why all of the TC games (primarly Ghost Recon) take place in Central or South America?

Last time I checked these weren't necessarly hotspots. Basically, I'm getting tired of the series taking place in mexico. Why can't they do an Iraq theme?

From what I've read up on the description....it's an all out civil war. And the Ghost team is sent in to defend US soil. So yeah, it might be back and forth in places on and around the border.

so yeah, teh game will be in teh border, between Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua and El Paso, Texas. These two cities are neighbors only divided by the border. They could have chosen Tijuana-San Diego, much more important cities for both countries

yeah but people actually know what san diego and TJ look like, so there would be more scrutiny on how accurate everything looks. nobody cares about, or goes to, el paso or those other two mexican cities
