toilet seat up vs down debate?

for debate, I have to persuade the audience that males should leave the toilet seat down. My points include:
germs/odor
courtesy
any other points I can talk about?

I think consideration needs to be given to the male and female. The male could put the seat down and the female could left the seat. It is true when a female goes into the bathroom without turning on the light she could get hurt with the seat being up. A comprise needs to be decided.
 
if a girl walks into the bathroom to go, and she has to go so bas that she doesn't look at the toilet, she might fall in and seriously injure herself
