Todd Kaufman and Mark Thronton NOT to direct Total Drama the musical

Oh no, the show will never be the same without them. I don't see why they would be gone after the amazing job they did. Total Drama Island is one of the most popular shows on TV right now.

I knew they would eventually quit being the directors of every episodes, but I didn't think it would be so soon. Well, at least they'll continue to be executive producers.

Whoa, whoa, whoa!

Just because the directors will leave doesn't mean it'll be automatically bad!

I mean, there's a situation that's going on on TDA, and I'm still watching it. Kaufman and Thornton were really good directors, but if they insist on no longer directing, then we should accept it.

It's not the lack of directors more as it is the entire premise of a musical season. The fact that Kaufman and Thornton aren't at the reins just makes me less confident that they can pull this off right.

Being executive producers doesn't give them much creative control over the final product at all, though. I mean, Akira Toriyama is one of the executive producers for the Dragonball: Evolution film, and look how that's turning out.

Really? I wasn't aware that he was actually a producer, I thought he was just doing the novelization. Since no site I've been to listed him as a producer, much less an executive.

From the movie poster:

From what I learn, a TV executive producers has more power over the show than a movie executive producers has over a movie.

In fact for movies, the title means nothing, it's just there to make fans feel like the original creators are involved on the project.

Hmm...yeah, that's what I was implying with my Dragonball: Evolution example. It varies from case to case...the most influential executive producers are called show runners. If Kaufman and Thronton are still in that position, there's not much to worry about, I suppose.
