...it's teachings? I consider myself agnostic, atheist when discussing specific religions; specifically the big 3. Formerly I was christian, grew up in a christian household, went to church 3 times a week, all that. However, it wasn't until I felt out of place in that religion that I decided to research the origins of the faith itself. That knowledge led me to research others. Prior to questioning my faith, I never even considered looking at the origins to better understand the faith.

What about you? Do you merely adhere to the belief system, or have you studied the origins? Do you understand the ties many have to one another? Have you looked at the influences of ancient cultures? Or do you not need anything more than the teachings presented to you to practice your religion comfortably?

If you have looked into the history of your faith (and still practice it), do you feel it is still completely valid with the influences and how it evolved, or do you think it is more abstract in how you should practice your faith?

Thanks in advance!
