...camp get a way with scouts? My son is going to go on a camping trip in two weeks. Its only for the weekend. The campsite is only about 40 minutes away from home but i have to work and cannot be there with my son. Its for boyscouts. Parents do not have to go. My son has ADHD and i didnt tell any of the leaders nor did i tell them or write on the information sheet that he takes Adderall daily. My son has had ADHD since he is 4 years old. The meds work great for him during school and stuff. We do not give him his meds on the weekends so that he can gain his appetite and get better sleep. What should i do as far as the camp thing? should i give my son his meds? If so, i will have to tell the leader b/c he wil be the one giving him the meds. This means that he will be much more focused but wont eat and sleep while at camp. I wont be around which makes me worried. Or shouldi just let him go to camp and not take his meds? What would you do?

I would appreciate only parents with ADHD kids to answer this question thanks (no offense).

My step son is also on Adderall, 10mg, daily including weekends. I was not aware that they could opt to not take them on the weekends cause I thought that any missed dose would confuse the system. I don't think that it would hurt to send him with his meds. If he takes them great if not then there is also no need to worry since he really does not have to. My only concern would be if something was to happen to him and the counselors were not aware of his medications? I think from a mothers perspective you should talk with him about he feels and just use your best judgment. It doesn't see as if it would hurt either way
Good luck!
