because.........................? I was in an abusive relationship for over a decade and married to a man with a lot of narcissistic traits. Eventually I fought back for once. I was charged with "domestic violence against a family member", which could sound like child abuse because the term is vague. I had never laid a hand on my children, and in an investigation that won't be hard to prove. But when I finish school and go to get licensed, I will have to have a CRIMINAL HISTORY BACKGROUND CHECK. The crime occurred in another state, and I left the man that same year. That was five years ago. It was a misdemeanor and the only crime on my record- ever. I had 6 months probation. He was air-lifted to the hospital and recovered in a week. Will this be a problem for me in passing the criminal check? Should I get the police records ready to help my case in case I am denied? What can I do? Is it a lost cause?
