Do you think it is appropriate to insist on being called "Sensei" when off the mat? I know of one guy in particular (not actually my instructor) who likes to wear the proverbial haks outside of the dojo and into the pub after training.
Personally I think that once you are in the dojo then fair enough, you have the right to be referred to as such. However, I don't feel it is right to blur the line between training and "real life" if you know what I mean. I find it very difficult to respect someone who thinks their title on the mat makes them a better overall person.
