To many years of Texas history?!?!?

I live in Texas and they make you take a whole year of Texas history in 3rd grade then a whole other year of it in 7th! I'm going to 8th now and i was wondering if they make you take any other whole year Texas history classes and also does any other state do this? I also have to take two years of Spanish, even kids who are already bilingual with Spanish and English. Does any other state do that?
 
There is significant historical events that occurred in Texas which do contribute to the political venue within the United States. Texas could very well have been a part of Mexico which is a factor today with illegal Mexico here in Texas and we foot the bill for kids that are not legal citizens receiving a free education.

Texas also played a huge role in Reconstruction after the civil war, manifest destiny and the driving of Native Americans to the West.

Wisconsin does two years of history. There are a number of other states that do too. State history is important to know and it does help you understand how a state became a state, the political challenges that it faced and how it affected the United States.

As an 8th grader you will learn about the civil war which is important because it was Northern states versing southern states and the issue of slaves.

no. i live in atlanta and we dont do history devoted to the state that's ridiculous.

its called U.S history and you take it for a year in usually the eleventh grade.

and you probably have to take spanish because of the meixcan population over there. we have options though we do have to take 2yrs of either spanish,french,german,latin. but i think the cirriculm changed last year soo
