To Fellow Christians- Why argue with non believers and try to prove a point to them?

the bible tells us in the book of Proverbs 13:1 that a wise son heeds his father's instruction (Christian) but a mocker does not listen to rebuke (Non Beleiver).
therefore, we cannot tell atheists anything because they do not want to hear it. We ourselves are stooping to their level when we argue with them. have you noticed in the bible when michael the angel and satan were at a debate over the body of moses and Michael simply said "i dare not make a railing accusation against you but may the lord rebuke thee".
you see, it is not our place to set someone straight, but it is the lords- who created us and knows how our individual minds are set up and therefore knows which bait to use to get us to bite.
do you agree that when faced with a non-believer, it is better to just walk away or to just be treated wrong or unfairly? or do you think we should try to prove or enforce our point in order to protect God who alone is Soverign?
my Bible tells me to love and pray formy enimies...
PS. i am not saying that God can't use us to plant seeds, because he most definatly can, (like i said- he's soverign). remember brothers and sisters, we are here to live for the lord, and living for him is obeying him.

if they are serious about the question they ask, il answer it.
but if they make a stupid question or remark about our religion and God. i usually just ignore it.
and if you really think about it. if you do get in a religous debate, in the end nothing happens. its all for nothing. they arent going to admit they're wrong. even though i say its my experience thats the foundation of my belief. we could argue all day and win .. but we still loose them

I try not to.

I do my best to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, and I do not argue it. The truth of God stands on it's own and does not need my help, for He is God and I am not.

if i wrote a book called the atheist bible maybe people would follow me. the christian bible seems to have caught on despite being so old it cant be proven...

There are too many religions in this world for you guys to win ANY fight.

and that book you quote so much?

Written by man. MAN!!! PEOPLE!!!!

You might as well quote Harry Potter.

One of the best things I've seen posted here all day. Your right.. and I have played up on their ignorance and intolerance all day.. i should stop.

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; ~ 1 Peter 3:15

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. ~ Romans 10:17

“So you, son of man: I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore you shall hear a word from My mouth and warn them for Me. When I say to the wicked, ‘O wicked man, you shall surely die!’ and you do not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand. 9 Nevertheless if you warn the wicked to turn from his way, and he does not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul.
10 “Therefore you, O son of man, say to the house of Israel: ‘Thus you say, “If our transgressions and our sins lie upon us, and we pine away in them, how can we then live?”’ 11 Say to them: ‘As I live,’ says the Lord GOD, ‘I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why should you die, O house of Israel?’ ~ Ezekiel 33:7-11

Even Jesus answered questions. That is throughout the 4 gospels. We must share with others. You are correct that only God can work on the hearts and minds of others but He wants to use us to share with others (Mat 28:19-20).

Wow! I already knew that I am an enemy to Christians but lack of proof but then again I was right.

Well I would say I'm a pin-head when it comes to the right way of doing it even though I fully know what I should be doing:

Joh:6:44: No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

M't:7:6: Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

1Tm:6:20: O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:
2Tm:2:23: But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.
Ti:3:9: But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

Ro:12:21: Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. ♥ â€* ♥ ☺
