medical history? I'm a cancer survivor, last diagnosed back in 2002. I've been "in the clear" since completing treatment in the spring of 2003. I tried to apply for life insurance just before the 5-year mark after completion of treatment, and was denied coverage. I heard at one point that once you pass 5 years since your last cancer, you don't need to supply that information if applying for life insurance. Is this true? I have my suspicion that information was confused there, that it's merely a better chance to obtain life insurance at a better cost if it's been 5+ years since last diagnosis. I have a long health history prior to the cancer 6 years ago, so it is my hope that I can go by only supplying my family doctor's records from the past several years, so I have a better chance at getting coverage. But, I don't want to scam the system either. Any advice on whether full health history needs to be provided would be greatly appreciated!
