To all: how important is the maintainance of your culture?

Just want opinions, but I shall explain my own and why I am asking this question.

Multiculturalism is starting to become a taboo word. The idea that the integration of other humans ideas, which centuries of war have disallowed, has become a bad thing. This is supposedly because it does not work. In my experience, the reserved maintainance of your own beeives whilst respecting others beleifs was never a bad thing. And never a huge problem in Britain, either. However, pweople seem to care a lot about how 'white' Britain is, because supposedly, white people do not commit anywhere near as much crime.
Now, living in Northern Ireland, I would know a bit about white people fighting white people. So long as there is some kind of divisor, people willl clash. t is not aquestion of colour, but intorlerance. I think most of you know this, even if you have the opposite opinion to me. Keeping this in mind, if you reciprocate respect for other cultures, what can go wrong? From my own observations, (I attend an integrated school) other cultures are often supressed and these foreigners have little vouice for their opinions. Now this is fair enough, I think it's standing evidence that their beleifs aern't the problem. People from all over the world generally have the sense, like we do, not to pitch up a fight against others to that scale. Yet people still worry that Birtish culture is being lost. How can the pstychology of a nation dissappear like that? All in all, it's just a nice little comfort zone, where you only have to interact with people with simular beleifs to you. What i migrants are doing by comuing over is accepting our ways and being moulded so they adapt. Now, I know this isn't always the case, but there is very little evidence of this feature of foreigners to stir up the contentity of our nation. It's scapegoating. It's so primitive. It's like in Nazis germany when the German people where convinced the Jews were the cause of the great depression, of Germany's failings etc. Now, I don't suspect Nick Griffin will take over and set a war on imigrants- but the asthetics seem extremely farmiliar. It is not a matter of people being immoral in their opinions, as such, but really just trying to be open minded to bigotry. Ironically, they have to make a euphenism of this, by refering to it as a 'sane, realistic perspective' when really they only choose it because it serves themselves. You could focus on any set of peoples and say how Britain would be a better place without them. We could gt rid of the elderly, the disabled- the unintelligent- I garentee the effect would be exactely the same. Yet our morals are too high to attack our own kind. Now why is it that someone from a different land with different influences should be such a threat to our country? Again, it's such a primitive and defensive reaction to cast them a threat. I think humanity grow by being open to all ideas, so long as they are moral, and since religions are generally moral codes, I think it's far enough that people should come over and preserve their own opinions, so long as they aren't malicious (the same way bigotry is). Rarely do people actually come over hating Britain- a few terrorist attacks do not back this up at all. Proportionally, compared to the crime we commit as 'white' ourselves, it's nothing.
I've gone on a bit. From experience people will complain about the length, the spelling and grammar. Doing that will not serve your arguement well. Just please get to the point if you want to disprove what I said. Which you can, in a way. What I've said isn't all that factual, but neither is the ideal that immigrants are ruining Britain. Also from experience, not one person has actually properly explained what they base their ideas on, at all. I just think my ideals are based on the principles of equality, and the others which I have thoroughl;y oppssed are discriminative and self serving, despite how good we have it living in Britain. I think capitalism real does fuel such greed.
