TNA Wrestling on Bravo (Part 3)

Three pages. I think we all deserve a round of applause. Some said we wouldn't last a week... some said we wouldn't last a mon... wait a minute... I've heard this before...

Think I'll have pie. Yup. Pie sounRAB good. Steak Pie. Mmm... Chicken and Vegetable... Mmm mmm... Both? Errr, no...

Getting the PPVs only would'nt work,Setanta tried it with WWE and it di'nt last long.If Sky decide they dont want TNA i am sure someone will pick them up,300K views a week is'nt bad.

Why do TNA still insist on booking throwaway gimmick matches on television? Furthermore, why does Vince Russo still insist on the old wrestlers talking backstage like the camera isn't there segment? It was cheesey 10 years ago and just makes them look more like a WWE ripoff.

got any evidence to support this?? considering TNA's website is still promoting their 3hrs on Thursday nights, and Spike's own website still shows it on their weekly planner

From what i heave been reading about the situation Sky plan to keep Challenge and Living seperate and may even run them under the Living TV group, that would mean if this contract between Sky and WWE does provent any Sky branded channels showing TNA content they could do this on Challenge or Living.

Challenge is due to get an overhaul and while nobody knows yet i suspect it will have more of a general entertainment feel, Challenge have also done sports and live sports before so this would be nothing new.

Yes impact is a ratings winner, problem is Sky may have no option but to settle and let TNA move elsewhere. WWE would bring in far more than TNA due to PPV rights and stuff so Sky would not want to lose all that content for the sake of a 2 hour a week show.

As for not showing the content, it is perfectly legal to purchase and now show content. Or Sky could leave it so long (right til the end of the deal and show at 3am) it would hurt TNA as the fans would have looked to get the content online.

As for ESPN i maybe wrong about Sky having a share but am sure that at the time Setanta went under and the premier league right because available a topic was on here that Sky were working with ESPN to get them the rights as Sky had a minimal stake. I know Sky certainly advertise ESPM on their website a lot and while i know the control the marketing its a weird thing to do to activly promote a rival product without any interest.

it would be like the BBC advertising ITV shows between its shows.

The first segment got a 1.53. It will be interesting to see the quarter hour breakdowns but if it really was the highest rated show since the first live one in January then it speaks volumes. It was a good show this week and they deserved that rating. They showed they could keep people interested for the entire program.

Well, you have to think about it this way. One of the main complainers about Sky's dominance was Virgin Media - the same company selling the channels.

Without them, there's only really BT that complain about stuff, but given they have such a small market share in TV, it probably just passed them by without much of a problem.

WWE would look better on Challenge with the Raw Roulette. (What an utterly stupid idea.) :p

I was bemused by the news that WWE would be on SyFy America. Sure, it's fictional, but science fiction? I think it was WWE's desperation that saw them end up on SyFy.

I'm genuinely intrigued as to where the rumours came from that Challenge was rebranding and changing into a channel that would cater to the audience that TNA wants. I think one of TNA's selling points over here was that it was at home on Bravo, a man's channel, which slotted in perfectly with other masculine programming.

I can't see Challenge being like that.

They don't care because they know nothing. They would love to spoil it for people. They would love to spoil Dixie's announcement and spoil who THEY are because that is what dirtsheets do. Their marks and what marks like is to know everything in advance. They can't do a thing with TNA because TNA doesn't have a big creative team writing their shows. They have one person. Nothing gets leaked out. But their more than happy to talk about supposed PPV buyrates TNA gets? Come on. They can't even speculate on who THEY are, a storyline which started with Samoa Joe's kidnapping back in January. They can't even guess at anything TNA does?

The dirtsheets know nothing which is why they say nothing. Even after this Thursday's Impact and after BFG you wont hear a peep out of them cause they will still be clueless from then on in. They don't have any wrestlers inside TNA willing to speak out against the company or leak anything about storylines and if they did you can bet they would be quick at posting them. TNA is pretty solid right now.

I think i'll just sit back and watch world war 3 break out on this thread :)

I guess I can learn as well .. apparently TNA's contract is either dead or being ripped up tomorrow.

Sky also have the mythical "sole exclusive nobody else not-evereverever" clause with the WWE as well ..

I think when it's all said and done (brother ..), Sky will simply move Impact to one of it's other channels until the current deal expires. *IF* the mythical "WWE Only" clause exists, they'll likely jettison Impact after that.

If it doesn't, it's likely they'll simply renew it if the ratings stay strong and TNA doesn't get greedy.

I'd say it's probably likely it'll turn up on Sky 2. With all the additional programming that they will have available on the closure of these two channels, they'll have enough to fill Sky2's schedules with original programming and not just simply use it as a Sky1 repeats channel.

TNA have issued a statement anyway ..

http://www.tnawrestling.com/news/item/2165-tna-responRAB-to-sky-tv-acquisition

read the last line ..

"..and our long term contract with the Living TV Group,"

LONG TERM ...

Picture quality is better since bravo have not control; over editing anymore its being done by TNA at source afaik

does anyone know if Celine Dion er Dixie Carter will return:D

agree but wwe looks at the whole picture,

PPV's no matter how silly it is to have 3 in 6weeks its still very profitable for wwe.

I think TNA are in a comfort zone with doing shows at universal, they really should start testing the waters else were.

Mick Foley is going on the Wrestling Observer podcast with Meltzer to plug BFG and his book on friday, I really hope it's not painful to listen to.
