Urgh. No offer has been 'turned down,' man. No offer has been submitted yet. How do I know this? Because OFCOM, the Competition Commission and the Government HAVE to be notified with an official letter of intent from News Corp. regarding their interest in BSkyB.
The only thing that is stopping Murdoch from buying the other 61% of the company that he doesn't own, is the aforementioned groups, due to the fact that IF Murdoch bought BSkyB, it would give him way too much power in the British Media sector. Which makes me think that sooner or later, it WILL happen, be it under his name, under a different group or under his sons. Murdoch, News Corp. and BSkyB are VERY clever when it comes to this sort of stuff. Remember the whole Virgin Media TV / ITV deal that was scuppered because Sky decided they wanted 17.9% of ITV? Then Sky were told to sell?
Imagine. If VMTV had bought ITV, there's a possibility TNA programming could have ended up on one of the ITV channels. Good ol' Sky f*cked that up for us...
Also, yes, TNA IS going somewhere. it's mid-September now. Three full months, if we believe what has floated around about end-of-2010 shut-downs, and TNA is homeless. Sky WON'T keep it, in my opinion. If they wanted it, they could have had it previously. They have shown no interest, and have backed WWE strongly when it comes to Pro-Wrestling. All the evidence points to TNA needing to go, or to look, elsewhere.
