TNA Wrestling on Bravo (Part 3)

But...but...that's just like comparing "fake" wrestling to UFC. They are not comparable.

"Pro" Wrestling is scripted entertainment - sumo is competitive sport.

I dunno why i've given you a proper answer because it seems like it's the usual random wind up post.

I wouldn't mind seeing what they come up,but then I loved mid 90's ECW,usually ff through Impact and the promotion isn't really moving due to numerous issues ranging from marketing to creative.

I wouldn't care if Hogan,Foley,Sting and the EV2.0 guys were gradually removed from television and used in some other role,or simply not re-signed.Then there are the untapped younger wrestlers on the indie scene who have something to give.

I think they would drop enough to make the channel think about if its worth showing it.

At the moment the wwe are lucky that a lot people are still willing to pay to watch it, I dont think TNA are fortunate enought to have that loyalty sadly

Sky of course just replace Bravo with another channel and stick it on there, they have to rehome Dog too :D

I somehow doubt Anderson agreed to take it like that, because it could have killed him. But hey he looks legit injured now, it fits the angle.

TNA really shows how little thought goes into there product.

A main event people wanted to see and they cut it off.

Everyone stateside gets to see the conclusion but international viewers.........lets forget about them

Sometime the simplest of ideas is better than try to get ratings for TNA reaction up. Someone really dropped the ball with this idea (Mr bischoff)

For the real hardcore fans....do you remember wcw doing the same back in the 90's. Showing the main event through out the adverts for shows after wcw nitro had gone of air??????

Sorry I wrote domestic when I meant worldwide!

83,000 is the domestic number (North America). The worldwide total is 143,000 because non US PPV buys are now something like 43% of the total figure.

that i can agree on,although one weeks rating drop doesnt neccesarily mean that the current direction wont work, time and patience is required ,if they have imapcts like last night every single week i could see them hit 2.0 within 6 months

Irrelevant. The thread isn't about Impact. It's about TNA Wrestling - at Bravo pace.

It would be more than fair to assume that people watching Impact at Bravo Pace aren't likely to stay up until 4am watching a live stream on ********** or download the show the next day to watch it.

It would be fair to assume that they'd want to watch the PPV the same way they do Impact - at UK Pace.

WWE Raw was back down to a 2.9 this week.

Bottom 10 WWE PPV buyrates of all time (numbers are domestic) 7 of which are from 2009.

1. ECW December to Dismember (2006): 52,000 buys.
2. Fatal Four Way (2010): 82,000 buys.
3. Cyber Sunday (2008): 92,000 buys.
4. Extreme Rules (2010): 105,000 buys.
5. Breaking Point (2009): 105,000 buys.
6. Bragging Rights (2009): 105,000 buys.
7. Over the Limit (2010): 113,000 buys.
8. The Bash (2009): 114,000 buys.
9. No Mercy (2006): 114,000 buys.
10. Backlash (2009): 116,000 buys.

Maybe TNA are best just doing as few PPVs a year. If WWE can't do well on PPV then i don't see them having much chance. They could have 4 a year and just build up to them like the THEY storyline did for Bound For Glory.

Yeah, but the difference this time is that TNA doesn't have another station showing it first-run. The Wrestling Channel would show those shows, and then Eurosport would show them months after, edited down to 45 Minutes, and with the stock commentator.

If they got it exclusively, I think it'd be different. It'd also be good for the channel itself. They need some new, regular programming. And a news channel. ;)

Now this makes it sound like they're keeping the Living TV Group as a separate entity to anything 'Sky,' which adRAB oxygen to the fire regarding this mythical 'exclusivity' agreement.

Still, Living TV is a women's channel. TNA WON'T be shown on there, otherwise Sky are just showing their incompetence on how to run a Female-orientated TV channel. I mean, come on. Greys Anatomy, Ghost Whisperer, TNA iMPACT! and America's Next Top Model? Jesus Christ...

TNA are showing loyalty, which is a good PR move, but I reckon they are already looking elsewhere.

No one cares about indy promotions. That's why their indy! Their niche. That's why the fans love it, they buy into the nicheness of it. Big audiences don't watch it. The fans think their cool worshipping wrestlers no one else has heard of. They don't draw money though.
