Those are worldwide buys in. That figure you posted is a worldwide buyrate. Infact WWE has been using combined buyrates for quite some time now. So when you look at those buyrates just remember that is America, parts of Europe and Australia all combined together. And feel free to google that too infact i am postive there are sites out there that will let you see what the PPVS sold domestically and what they did internationally infact.........i'm sure i posted it last month. I'll have a look again.
I see your point about TNA not increasing their number of viewers since joining Spike TV.TNA's highest rating was a 1.5 and that was for the live show in January. Last week Mick Foley and Ric Flair's match did a 1.44 and the Knockouts match did a 1.40. I'd say they have kept their audience and are slowly increasing it whereas WWE's ratings have been on a steady decline for years now it's just for some reason this year they have dropped dramatically. Especially the PPV buyrates but your right, they will still make a lot of money off them. But if they only did 63,000 buys in America coming off the heels of Wrestlemania then i can't wait to see the buyrates for the most recent PPVs. 3 of them within 5 weeks.
WWE does put it's main eventers in tag team matches prior to their PPV matches. It gives people a little taste of what is to come at the PPV. Another ending to Raw will be maybe a standoff so one is in the ring and the other will be standnig at the top of the ramp. Another ending to Raw might be a confrontation that enRAB up in a fight but just as the good guy goes to do his finisher the bad guy makes the lucky escape then the program enRAB with the camera on their facial expressions. It is a little predictable. It's just like someone gettting thrown to the outside a minute into the match. I know it's a commercial break. And your right about Orton and Barrett not touching each other but that's not what it is about is it? It's about Cena being bullied into Nexus. Their not forcing that title match on you. Infact they barely even mention it, all the focus is on Cena doing things he doesn't want to do.
I think both companies need to change the way they do things. If TNA had some of the things WWE has it would be amazing and likewise if WWE had some of the things TNA had it also would be great. TNA is a proper wrestling company though. All the characters and stories, you get some violence, you get some women, you have some comedy in there. That's what wrestling should be about. People want to watch and enjoy themselves and have fun.
