TMobile Unlock Request

T-Mobile is the only carrier that gives you the unlock code with ease. I ahve a buddy that asked for the unlock code for his phone at Cingular and they told him that he had to wait until he had completed his contract. Imagine that?

By the way, I was able to get the unlock code for both of my BlackBerry devices--7105t and 8700g.

Phillly, with Cingular, your friend may have better luck if he tells them he has to travel internationally. I am SO HAPPY I left them seeing as they hardly support ANYTHING related to the BlackBerry.

Frenchky, just follow the instructions in posts #1, 8 and 9, and you will be able to unlock your BlackBerry. It's simple and takes less than 5 minutes once you get the code.

I was going to unlock my 7100t and my 7730 but I don't have 3 different active lines.

~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~i have been wanting to switch from NEXTEL to t-mo. Just wondering if properly unlocked my 7520 should work with t-mo. If so calling t-mo and telling them I want to switch should be a "valid excuse" to bypass the above rules and get them to help me unlock it. Any one have expeience or comments about this matter. I wanna know all that I can findout before I try to make the transition. Also if I switch my bb to a nother network will it have any effect on the performance of it? Any info would be helpful and greatly apprciated.

The unlock code for each BB is unique to that BB. You will have to call your carrier and see if you can get it from them, or use one of the many websites that offering unlocking services for a fee.

Unfortunately Nextel and TMO use different technologies so your 7520 will not work on TMO. If you want to switch to TMO you are going to have to get a new BB device.

i just buy this bb 7105t for last month, i dont think they will provide me the code now. Do you know what website provide the code for free?

The SIM card i had in my 7105t was unlocked -- now that the card is in my 8100, is the phone also unlocked, or do i need to request a code for each phone.

I don't think you'll find a website that will unlock your device for free. However, there are many that will do it for a fairly resonable price. I have used unlockit.com a few times and always with good results.
