Tmobile Unfair Upgrade Option

I deal with people like this all day long.. Needless to say, it really wears me down! I would never even think to ask for a discount on a product. If I want a better deal, I shop around somewhere else! There are reasons why things are priced a ceratin way.. Get over it, stop crying and buy the DANG phone!! I'll tell you what, if you buy it from me, I'll even throw in some tissues ~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~

Please tone down your comments, this is simply venting if you carefully read my posts, I never asked for a discount but since it was offered I simply wanted them to honor the offer for the device I wanted to buy not another one. Your comments can be comprehended as personal and offensive. This is not the atmosphere we are seeking to establish on this forum. Tmobile is a business and I am currently a unhappy customer but a customer still. I hope the rest of your day is a pleasant one!

~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~Sorry to hear your having a problem with Tmo msbrenda. I was in that spot also. I went thru tons of reps who were either uncaring to flat out rude about it. I finally spoke to an Account specialist. She also was not willing to work with me till I asked her to cancel all 4 of my lines and that I would port over to cingular. She then placed me on hold, I assumed she was doing what I asked. She came back with a good offer on my 8700g. Also waived the shipping fee.
Now if you go this route, be prepared for them to call your bluff. In my case I was not bluffing. I had already contacted cingular on prices. I used that in my favor when dealing with the account specialist.

Good luck and let me know if I can help you.

John

To those who think the original poster is trying to get something for free, that is not the intent. She is just stating her frustration at being offered a product she does not want when she should be able to get what she wants for an affordable price.

Excellent Point! I'll take that under consideration, I agree the 8700g is well worth $700 and I'll probably purchase it for the $349 I just didn't understand why they would offer me a discount on a phone I don't even want and not on the phone I wanted. Thank you for your comments you have given me something to think about!

what's up with the bitterness in some of the responses. I understand msbrenda's story, and what i don't get is the other people getting all bent out of shape because they think she wants a discount...big deal...move on get over it...let people vent...

this forum is usually pretty mellow, don't know why people are getting heated...

Just checked the TMo web site. The page I was at indicated the cost for purchasing an 8700 is listed at $299 (after mail-in rebate).

rabroad will continue to be for OPEN discussion and thus I find it hard to close this thread. Just a reminder to all... of what rabroad Stands for. This policy is NOT flexible!

Happy Stacking!

I must say this is very strange. I called TMo recently to negotiate an upgrade. I researched Cingular before calling customer service and I was genuinely ready to switch unless TMo was willing to match the Cingular deal in some way. I spoke with one TMo rep, signed on for 2-year contract, and got my brand new 8700g for free. I couldn't have been happier with them. Have you upgraded recently? Are you still under an active contract? I think that when they still have you under a current contract they have you by the nads. It makes sense if you think about it from their perspective.

I feel same thing with me, too... Becuase I had old color sidekick for upgrade to SK2 at the time. It won't accept about low price. One friend of mine who is deaf woman dare hollar on the phone of TMO company for try offer low price. She did insult the company back how she feel that the company use our money as rip off. But she win and get new SK2 for $175.00. Wow how she did dare back them.. XXXX her..

The key point is, loyality means less than grabbing some "fresh meat." Almost like giving the neighbors kids better Christmas presents than your own. In response to this Verizon is going to switch to dealing with the two most annoying things about all cell companies (most at least) that being the upgrade issue for established customers and the fixed rate (they will prorate by each month) of early contract withdrawl. I am with TMO and recentlly went through the same battle, being saved for the lower price only by the guy standing in front of me. I had a 7105 that was old enough to upgrade but when I changed to a family plan they took the BlackBerry off my single account giving me two - the family plan and the BlackBerry. So even though the device by when I got it qualified, the acount number change put me back to zero at the day of change. The rep in the store tried to get things done through customer care (????) and they blew him off too. The manager of the store on his own decision gave it to me for the 299 rather than 349. The Verizon change from the article I read is not going to happen until the fall. but that attitude shift on their part could bring me over - or it may even force the others to shift their thinking.

Stay tuned.
