Tmobile SUCKS!!

I wanted the G1 so I came to T-Mobile about 6 months ago. I'm in South Tampa which is in the main metro area. So 3G is hit or miss around my neighborhood. I thought for sure they would have UMA (voip, which T-mobile is the only carrier that has the ability to do it natively) like their "say good bye to good bye campain". Anyway, they did not put on the first nor the second android phone. However, the BB have it on all of their phones. I have a USB wireless card and I wanted to start service on it. Well, called and they said it would be a 2 year agreement for about $50 a month. I said you have a new USB adabpter for $100 if i do a 2 year plan. Well, what if I pay the $300 by the new USB for cash do I still have to do the 2 year plan? yes sir they said. So why would I want to do business with T-mobile for a wireless card if I can go to AT-T, Sprint, or Verizon and get the same 2 year agreement. But they have faster networks with larger 3G coverage? Sorry sir but those are the rules. Anyway, nobody said you have to have a brain to run a company. So guess what I just tethered and solved my problem. Idiots!!! And I'm still going to leave TMO due to no UMA on the Android. Sprint or ATT and looks like Sprint. I'm waiting till they crack the Samsung Moment Android. I hate TMO with every fiber of my being!!! I was with Alltel for 9 years prior and not a bad word to say, apparently since I stayed their for 9 years.

I'm about to leave Tmobile as well.

I live in an area of Florida that still doesnt have 3G.. and Edge is spotty. I've been very patient with them about that.

But last month, I noticed I was charged an xtra $60 on my bill for "overages"

I looked further and for some odd reason, my family plan with my wife went over the minutes by about 90 minutes or so.

Now this has NEVER happened in the many years that I've been with Tmobile. I still suspect something wasn't correct.

Anyway, those F'ers charged me 45 cents a MINUTE for overage.

I called them up and was nice as pie on the phone. I just wanted the overages waived.

The first rep wouldnt budge.

I asked to talk to a manager. After waiting about 20 minutes, I get some other rep, who was so "ebonic" I could barely understand what she was saying. It was almost like I was talking to Scarface from the Geto Boyz. Anyway- I told her that I've been eyeing Verizon and the Droid, and had been considering leaving Tmobile for better hardware, but I've been a loyal customer, despite STILL not having 3G.. and that if these fees were waived, I would stick with Tmobile. I was serious.

Nope, didnt care. "these charges are valid" they said.

And with that, my friends, I have crossed Tmobile off my list. Only reason I havent left already is my contract is up quite soon and I figure I'll stick with their crappy data and bad customer service for a month or two and save myself a couple hundred bucks in cancellation fees.

I'm sure by then I'll still have spotty EDGE, no 3G and no cool new Android hardware to contemplate on their network, and will fine about leaving them behind.

I used to think Tmobile was "cutting edge" being the first Android carrier, but now I'm thinking they are dropping the ball. Verizon is looking pretty good to me right now.

I just got my GMT3G which retails for like 350-400? Idk something like that. Ive been with t-mobile for going on 8 years now and when i brought that up to them they offered me the Gmt3g for 150, and i didnt have to pay up front, they sectioned it out and added it to 3 different bills. Ive never had a problem with their customer service. Idk exactly what the cliq is but 199$ for a phone isnt even that bad. If youd rather switch companies and get a droid or other similar phone go ahead but ive seen other companies screw my friends and family members over numerous times and now most of them have switched to tmobile.

Edit: I live in ohio though and i get 3g almost anywhere i go.

Verizon is quite a bit more expensive than TMo. I priced out a similar plan to what I have on TMo today and it would have been at least $40 more per month. Ouch.

Doesn't TMo have a "New every 2" plan? Seems like they do. Did you ask them about that?

NDSankar....I did talk to the customer retention peeps, twice. They have gotten me a deal in the past but they don't care about retaining my business now.
The reps I spoke with (4 of them including a manager) said that I should stay with Tmobile because they have the cheaper plans. They obviously feel like that is the reason they can treat me like crap. They forget that they continue to come out with weak devices that get owned by verizon, sprint, and at&t every day. My wife will be leaving Tmo in March and I am about a year behind her (contract).

South Chicago here and I get 3G almost everywhere. Verizon is very patchy for me. I use their EVDO modem on my laptop at work and It almost never can hold a connection. Don't even get me started on how crappy Sprint's service is around here. Some coworkers use the for walkie talkie at work and anytime I try and call them its always "the sprint pcs subscriber you are trying to contact is out of service".

I'm a flexpay customer with Tmobile. I never get overage charges. Never get hidden fees. And I wait every 2 years and get a new phone for dirt cheap. My bill is ~$95 a month. 300 anytime, fav 5, unlimited nights weekends starting at 7. Unlimited Data. I can make voip calls over 3G with Fring. and can tether my phone to my laptop.

Honestly I don't see your guy's problem.

I had the same problem. I was with them while they were VoiceStream and my phone bill is more expensive than some car payments but get one CS person on the phone who acts as though you are robbing them and it's a wrap. Lucky for THEM, I know that most of my experiences have been positive and that's why I won't burn the contract all together. Try your call again and keep us posted.
