tmobile mytouch slide camera?

i have a tmobile mytouch slide, but the camera is blurry and won't focus. I dropped by the local tmobile store, and they said if the phone was bought less than a year ago from tmobile, it is still under warranty. thing is, i never bought the phone from tmobile, i got it from craigslist, so would there still be a warranty valid?
I know for sure its been less than a year, because the phone hasn't even been out that long.
