Please don't think I'm targeting you, but you have posted quite a bit with dofferent issues with t-mobile and blackberry devices, this is actually going out to every one, and I wish every one can read this. Remember T-mobile is just a service provider, nothing more than that just like Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, etc...There main purpose is to provide a service. The issues that you are having are with the product the RIM has developed. I'm not passing any blame or saying RIM is bad. Just making a few clarifications. Just because there is a problem with the hardware/software of the device doesn't men it 's the provider for they don't make the device. The help choose what they want on there.
In regards to refurbished devices. Every one gets all up in arms about refurbed devices. To be quite honest with you. A refurb device doesn't mean diaster. In some cases it does and in some cases it works better than a brand new device. Remember a refurbed device can be this here: You walk into the the store and purchase a phone. You don't even put your SIM card in, and the seal is broken on the phone and you change your mind right after purchasing, that phone is now considered refurbished. It was never used but it was opened. At my store once that happens the phone is sent to our return center. A device could have been used for a week and the person just didn't like it. They haven't done anything to it but because it was purchased and taken out of the store it's refurbished. Refurb just means like new. It isn't going to be brand new out of the box, but then again what is. I can be very certain that a lot of the devices that we purchase weather its a phone or something else has been tested and used by the developers who make the phone, I'm pretty sure that makes your device a refurbished piece of equipment.
Remeber technology is only as good as the people who make, there is no such thing as a perfect person so there is no such thing as a perfect device.
It honestly that the issue you are having with your device can easily be solved by backing up your device and doing a reload of the software. And rememebr the people who are in tech support with any of the carriers aren't employed by RIM, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung etc...they are employed by the specific carrier. They only know what they are trained on, so they may not be completely familiar with all the devices. So sometimes you may come across someone who isn't as knowledgeable as yourself.
And one last thing....T-mobile doesn't block 3rd party applications. You can modify or do whatever you like to the device that you own however, certain things may vooid your warranty. If you are using a blackberry and on an enterprise server BES, then your company can choose if they want 3rd party applications to be downloaded to your device or not, and if thats the case sometimes if you talk to your IT department they can send you a blank policy which will allow you to download 3rd party applications but it's usually only for about 24hours.
If you have any other questions please let me know...I'll be glad to answer them. Oh and one last thing sometimes remember the problem may not lie with the device it may be the user, there have been numerous of occassions where I thought I was doing it right and turns out I was not even close ad I was getting mad at my carrier and my device and everything....
