Tmo The Pearl & "my album" - Help pls

*addedum*
Sorry if I repeated another persons question.

Hello everyone. I have a question and was wondering if anyone was going through the same issues....

Anyway, I have Tmobile in NYC, I have the Pearl, with the basic phone and data plans. I also have the 4.99 messaging package which includes SMS and MMS. Up to a couple of weeks ago I was able to receive picture messages on my pearl without having to log on anywhere....and now when I receive a picture message, it's a message from tmo saying that I have received a picture message and that I have to log on to "my album" to see it. WTF. It gets worst. Has anyone noticed that you can't log on to "my tmoble" from the pearl's browser? So I can't see my pictures on my pearl, I have to wait till I get to a desktop, to log on to my tmo to see the pics sent to my phone.

I changed my sim card last night from my pearl to my samsung t-609. I was able to log on to "my album" and see my pics sent from other people via mms.

I love my pearl, the last time I called tmo, they transfered me to a "bb specialist" (right ) and they told me it's a technical issue, and that I might have to send it in and get a new one. ITS NOT TECHNICAL! It's the service! I am so fustrated with tmoble (this is my 6th phone in 9 months (counting 2 replacement phones) and I am seriously considering selling my pearl, paying the termination fee and jumping ship.

Can anyone give me some insight, or even just sharing the same gripe? Thanks for your time.

There was a recent story similar to your own somewhere on the stacks.

Try sending your service books again. Then try sending a picture message to yourself.

The last time this happened, it was not the Pearl, but rather the network not "knowing" that the Pearl was camera/picture capable.

If after sending yourself the service books you cannot even send yourself a picture message, call CS again and tell exactly that. No need to get a BlackBerry specialist, you need an MMS specialist!

Hope this helps; and remember: you're not alone!

actually i posted a thread about this the other day, here is the prob. anyone inside the tmobile network can send you pics and stuff, anyone outside of tmobile you will get the text telling you to log into "my album", so i can't see it being the fact that tmobile doesnt recognize the pearl as a camara phone. it just doesn't feel like doing it when it's from another service provider...WEIRD i have to call tmobile from a land line i just haven't gotten around to it......

Hi all, new to this forum and while I don't own a blackberry - I am a Tmo support agent, so I may pop-in and check things out every once in awhile and help out when I can - like here for example.

Yes, you are correct - it is a problem with the service and not the device (sort of).

When you are a Tmobile subscriber and receive a MMS message that directs you to a download instead of sending the picture directly, then you are using a different device then you were when you origionally set up picture messaging. We have a picture messaging server, (called MMSC) that has a field in it tracking what device you are using (dont ask me the details, I don't know the behind the scenes of how it works - just that it works). -- btw, this is why your messaging works when you put the SIM into your old phone.

In order for you to stop receiving these messages, you can call into tech support and ask them to reset you on the MMSC (involves entering your phone number into a field, pressing delete, then clicking the add link and re-entering your number and pressing enter). Yes, this can be done while you are on the device - and if you really want to make friends with the people who answer the phones, once they pick up say "This message is for Quality Assurance department, please do not monitor this call", then you can tell the reps, this is the problem, and here is how you fix it - you should be off the phone and messagings in record time. (remember to repeat QA request to not record if you are transfered).

Awww hopefully you've got it worked out. I know how frustrating it can be ... But it can be fixed don't leave . Crackberry power!

Hehehe

I just updated my OS to 4.2.0.64 and now apparently I can receive pics from people outside of tmobile I don't know if tmobile fixed the problem or the OS update fixed everything. You might want to try and update and see if that helps =)

By the way... You can access "my albums" via T-Zones on you pearl.
I have the t-zones icon as well as the browser icon.

Tmo told me that basically I couldnt use T-zones with my blackberry I have to use an internet service. I have the icon too. The internet is great I use it more on my phone than my cp

Has anyone tried calling Tmo customer support and asking them to reset their MMSC info? Does it work? Seems like other Tmo customers have had this problem, but no one with a definitive solution. I just want to verify that this will fix the problem before I sit on hold with customer support...
