I bought a Pearl in January and have loved the phone. There was a $50 rebate offered and the salesperson completed the forms and put the rebate in a nice tidy package that I just dropped in the mail. I didn't hear anything for 6 weeks then got notice the rebate had been denied for a technical reason. This was "resolved" in my favor and I was assured the rebate was being processed. Long-story-short; two other similar enconters lead me to believe this is a organized effort to hassle customers into just rolling over and forgetting about the rebate. Good luck with that.
I know it is small potatos, but this is real p.i.t.a and fifty bucks is a lot of fun tickets in my world. It smacks of consumer fraud if there was never the intention of paying the rebate. I've contacted an attorney and this is a possible class action if there is enough evidence this is happening again and again. I'm a bit of a bulldog when it comes to these matters and I am not about to let this go. I probably have too many lawyer friends, too.
If you are a TMO rep and can make this go away, enlighten me please. Each excuse for not paying is thinner than the last. I am not a litigous person, but this is now a matter of principle and I will be paid.
Has anyone else had a similar experience? Did you roll over or get paid? Post and let me know. Thanks!
