Tmo Can't Fix My BIS Email Problems - Can you?

So I am new to TMobile, and Blackberry. But they came out with the Pearl and it did what it was supposed to - convert non-believers. Step 1 complete.

I have had the phone and TMo service for just over two weeks. I am techincially capabile and pretty good at figuring out problems normally.

This time even everyone I have talked to (literally a different help desk person every day for 9 days before I gave up on them) has no solution.

Here is the problem.

I set-up 1 yahoo account and 1 work POP account on my 8100 BlackBerry through the "Set-up Internet Mail" on the 8100. No problem. All working fine. Then I wanted to change the signature file, so I accessed the BIS through my "My Tmobile" page two weeks ago. I changed the signature fil on my Yahoo account.

Every since then I have not been able to access the BIS section of my "My Tmobile" page - either through my computer's browser, or through the 8100's browser. I simply get a "Cannot be completed at this time"

Everyone I talk to at Tmobile says "Delete the Service Book." "Go into HRT and Register again" "Take out the battery, wait and reboot the 8100".

I set up an internet help desk ticket with them - and no one has got back to me about it and I still can't access my BIS pages.

Anyone got any smart ideas?

I think my signature file might have been too long and might be causing the problem. I don't know though. You'd think they could just reset me on their system and start again or something...

You cant change the signature on the BB without BES 4.o or newer. I am going through a signature problem right now, I was on BES and had a signature, left BES and my signature did not go away. Deleted service books and I am fine now. I cant give much help to the OP other than delete service books.

blaim, Welcome to rabroad.

Try the suggestion provided once again. Changing your Sig in BIS should not have locked it up but it may have. Did you ask for Data Device Support when you called TMO CS? Always ask for that or Blackberry Device Support. The first tier CS will not know how to help with your BB.

Hi,
Thanks for the start to helping me solve this.
I have been talking to BlackBerry Support at TMobile - but they don 't seem to know much.

Also, I can't change the signature file without accessing my "My TMobile" page because I am not using BES. I need this page to do anything...

Word.

Try deleting you email accounts from the 'set up email' link in your bb browser. See if you can log in to my-tmobile then. If so then try setup of the accounts again. I don't know of any signature size limits, but if you think the signature being too long is the issue try using a signature via AutoText on your handheld.

Blaim, did the suggests here work?

I've had such an issue before where the link disappeared on my T-Mobile for me to get to my bis and I entered set up BB internet mail in the search on my T-Mobile and was able to access my BIS from there. After a few days, my link re- appeared. I have no idea why it went away because I have always used a BB device on my T-Mobile account. I know that it shouldn't have happened. I have no idea why the link disappeared and I never received an answer either. I just went in to change a signature that I had already setup and needed to change my signature because I started working out of a different office.

Hey y'all. Thanks for helping me out...

This was done last week and it didn't work...

Since I'm not on BES I can't change the signature on my 8100. Please let me know if this is incorrect but it's what I've read...

Not yet...

Sounds similar except mine has been down for two weeks now and no one seems to have a clue about how to start fixing it...

Blaim, I've changed my signature file on my T-Mo (BIS) account several times in the last 6 months with no issue and, in at least two of those times, my signature was my name and full address, so I don't think that is the problem. I would try and get someone from Blackberry Data Service at T-Mo to log in for you while you are on the phone with them. If they can get in to your account, maybe they can just change your signature back or resend your service books AND if they can't, they need to figure out how to solve it, not you. Best of luck!

I have tried this and they can't login to my BIS section of my account. And seem useless at helping me. So angry with them - they seem totally unwilling to help and totally unknowledgable.
