TMO and New York

A guy I work with that lives and offices on Long Island is tired of me bragging about how cheap my TMO service is (esp the $19 BB plan)...he is considering dumping verizon for TMO and the pearl but has heard that TMO's coverge in the NE is not so hot -- any input would be appreciated!
 
Kayos i never knew you was from the Garden State i live about 15 min from the city and my service is great me i wouldnt mind the change give it a try for 14 day if it doesnt work out change back
 
Yeah, Tmo generally (from my experience across the country) has moderately good service in major metropolitan areas and along majors roads or interstates.
 
go to http://www.t-mobile.com/coverage and check it yourself, these are outdated because they never want you to get your hopes up, because I get four bars at my house, and it tells me I'm only supposed to have 1, and I have four IN my house.
 
I dropped Verizon for T-Mo/bb. I live right outside NYC in Hudson County (NJ) and get great service. T-Mo is good for most major cities, but in the boonies you are gonna have to use a payphone.
 
I live in CT and commute to NYC everyday. My coverage in CT is utterly pathetic (unless I'm in Fairfield County) but the service in NYC is as good as any I've ever had.
Thankfully I'll be living in NYC again in 5 weeks!!
 
Born and Raised in NYC, living in NJ now about 15 minutes from the GWB- TMO works great (Full Edge coverage)

In addition I have friends and fam in all the 5 boros of NYC including Staten Island, Long Island and Westchester and TMO still works fine.

I live on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and visit the Lindenhurst and Babylon areas of Long Island on weekends.

Regular Tmo service, with a Samsung phone is kind of sucky. With the BB Pearl, I've had a few problems at home, but great reception in Long Island, except for far east LI and within Wildwood State Park (Riverhead/Wading River areas. That's Cingular town)

Hope this helps. Also, Tmo's coverage maps are worthless, as different phones have different antennai.

I say yes for Tmo for a BB, but no for Tmo in LI for Samsung phones.

I have TMO 2 for the past 2 weeks or so they have been having MMS issues; I noticed and called them and they offered me free extra mins or credit towards my next phone bill...has anyone noticed this? I m in NYC!
