TMNT Talkback: Episode 5.07: "Membership Drive" (Lost Season Spoilers)

I'll agree the first Nano ep was among the weaker eps from S1, though the writers do get points for trying to stray away from the Shredder subplot early on in S1. I found the second ep to be quite enjoyable though. S2 had a few stand-alone eps that were very entertaining. My fave of that lot was the "hockey" episode. On the surface it's a terrible ep however it's a great TMNT-Casey story w/ lots of great comedic dialogue. I miss Casey Jones. The guy can brawl but he's an enjoyable lummox during downtime.
 
The Demon Shredder thing was why I don't like 4Kids airing this episode. They alert the Justice Force of the Demon Shredder... and the Demon Shredder is a spoiler.

Previously on TMNT: After losing all of the Shredder's artifacts to the Ninja Tribunal and their acolytes, the Shredder's five elemental Heralds counter-attack, killing not only the turtles fellow accolytes, but apparently the Tribunal itself! Defeated, the turtles, Splinter, and The Ancient One return to New York to wait for the inevitable: the return of the Demon Shredder.

This week on TMNT: Busy, busy. Stockman and Bishop find lost technology; the Justice Force decide to organize a membership drive; and the turtles look for allies for their inevitable battle with the soon-to-be-ressurected Shredder.
 
This was a really fun episode, nothing really earth shattering, it moves the main season plot along while giving the guys a nice side adventure. I wish all "filler" episodes were like this one.
