"TMNT" Sequel Very Possible

If there's a sequel, bring back Shredder. And I don't mean that Utrom Shredder, I mean the human Shredder from the 2 live action movies.

No. I thought Super Shredder and Secret of the Ooze sucked. I would really prefer it if the sequel didn't make direcet references to the previous live action films, just like TMNT. That way fans like myself can ignore the second and third live action films if they want; and fans that want to can believe that the second one was canon are free to acknowledge it if they want to. Or they're free to believe that this is a seperate continuity if they want.

On top of that, there was no logic behind Super Shredder. How the heck did his suit mutate? How could that dock falling on him kill him after he survived having the bejeezus crushed out of him by the garbage turck in the first one? It just didn't work for me, even as a kid.

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but the impression that I got was that TMNT was a separate continuity from the previous Ninja Turtles movies, and so the events of the live action movies would never be referenced, as they didn't happen in this movie's universe.

I believe it's similar to the Superman, Superman 2 and Superman Returns continuity.

And the end of TMNT did show some items from the movies indicating they happened. While the ooze canister had been in the comics, they did show the Sceptor from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3.

The Time Scepter is also an item seen in the comics in the possession of Renet/Lord Simultanious/Savanti Romero/etc. Though of course they're suggesting in that scene that TMNT *could* be the same continuity as the previous movies.... or maybe not. ;)

Indeed 70/30 is good odds. Let's get worm-clone Shredder, Let's get more Karai, Let's get that PG-13 rating. Go all out for the sequel!

Well Worm Clone Shredder means the original did die. That is something I want more then him surviving obvious death again. Plus that also gives us some interesting battles with the mutated Shredders.

The new Ninja Turtles series, which was launched in 2003 (only 4 years ago) is still going strong and has a loyal following. In addition, the latest movie in the franchise, TMNT, just came out last year. So why not another TMNT movie? The Turtles franchise is still very much alive and well.

I really hope they get better writers next time. Raph versus Leo was pretty good but the rest of the movie was toned down to a ridiculous degree. The first movie had cursing, hitting people with the weapons and a more serious tone underneath the joking.

It seems the censors were upset the TMNT's violence since the expectation is that all CG movies must be for kids and only feature animals making esoteric pop culture references. A way around this is to adapt the Leonardo Blindsight artitic style. Using sillouettes while Leo is blind will allow them to maintain a higher level of violence while keeping a PG rating.
