Episode 1.22: Head of State
Original Air Date: Septemeber 15, 2007
Written by: John Dominic Drdek

Previously on Fast Forward: The Turtles join a Road Rally, cause that?s what they do. Along the way, they stop an attempt by Triple Threat to steal all of the Rally's vehicles, and meet a young race enthusiast named Falcon.

This week on Fast Forward: Despite his many alleged good deeds, the turtles are still hesitant to trust Pan-Galactic Alliance President John Bishop. Still, when the President asks for their special brand of protection against an unknown threat, the turtles agree to become his bodyguards. However, they never expected the threat to be a familiar one?

First thing i notice is Bishop's Fast forward design is much better then his first appearance, he no longer has that hamster like mouth that was a huge joke for us during "Bishop to Knight"

Hey guys, I pretty much ignored most of this series but is the kids related to Casey or April somehow? Don't tell that their great great grandson or something, because that's the vibe I'm getting off of him.

I am loving this episode. Bishop's change of heart is cliche but it works. Expecting an alien to kill him for all he has done but instead the alien saves him. An event can change someones mind I guess.

This is by far the best episode of Fast Forward yet. It's actually really interesting and I like the fact that Bishop and Stockman are in it and how much Bishop has changed.

The time travel episode was a bit better but this is by far my second favorite Fast Forward episode. Yeah the change of heart for r friend stockman was a bit quick, it was used to show how much Bishop has changed in fifty years. to show the Turtles that this is not the same man who tried to use their DNA to destroy aliens.

The Turtles were more in character, we got background informtion for Bishop and how he changed. Over all 8.5/10

And once again, Stockman refuses to die. But it looks like we finally get some closure on his story, with him hopefully regaining a body and using his research for good. I like how everything worked out.

Excellent episode. We finally got a more clear explanation about Bishop's change of heart and in addition, Stockman returns!

So now Bishop and Stockman are officially good guys? I wonder if by this season's end we'll get to see Stockman back in a proper organic body...

non-decomposing this time. ;)

I found the scene with the council hilarious as the head calls for recess just as the organic mousers started attacking. Nice touch. :)

I believe the next ep (I didn't see the promo) is the one with this insane collector who has "collected" two of the Inuwashi Gunjin (not sure of the spelling). Yes, the same ones that were "employeed" by Darius.

The FF season isn't as good as any of the seasons before it, and it has a really rough start, but there are some good episodes in this season that should not be missed, such as this one. Just don't expect too much out of it since this season was purposely toned down from the previous ones, just think of it as a slightly more continuity based version of the old 80's series.

Considering 4kids is working on another season where the Turtles return to the past, FF is going to be canon with 2k3 and whatever the next series is called. So you can't really ignore it if you like TMNT in general.

I like the general premise of this episode, but I found the drama overplayed into typical, cheesy 4Kids melodrama. The writing and delivery could've benefited from a bit more subtly and restraint, along with letting the visuals speak for themselves more during the flashback scene instead of being narrated to death by Bishop. I still feel FF didn't do enough with Bishop before this episode to give us genuine sympathy for this turn - he was more of a blank cipher in his previous appearance. And they could've done a bit more with Baxter's appearance, maybe? Of his numerous re-designs this was easily the weakest.

Sill, references to 2K3 are always welcome. And this one goes a long way to tying up some old loose ends.

TMNT: Fast Forward Talkback: Episode 1.22: "Head of State" (Spoilers)

Although the episode starts out well enough, with some neat action sequences and lines such as ?The President of the galactic council DOES NOT HOLD!?, it sort of falls after the flashback, when both Bishop and Stockman become too simplistic and saccharine for their own good (although one can almost fanwank an explanation for it). Still, a decent episode, and a good resolution for Stockman?s story.

Too bad we never see Stockman again. I wonder if they were planning to use him in Fast Forward?s ill-fated second season.

Do I have to? I don't like it.
