TMNT: Back to the Sewers Pre-talkback

Teletoon ditched TMNT after Season 4. They haven't shown Fast Forward or the Lost Season so I don't see why they'd show Back to the Sewer either.
 
True...but so what? After all, nothing shown back then was set in stone, and it's not like action figure-related info is ever considered more valid than the show itself. If 4Kids is simply calling the new design "Foot Ninja", then that's the (so far) official name for it.

In any case, I really like the design. It's sleek, it's different without seeming out of place (Karai's Foot Tech Ninja follow a similar design scheme) and looks awesome in general. Still, I'm actually quite surprised--I would have thought that like Splinter, and the turtles, the Foot would look more like they did in the movie.

Random speculations and wagers:
  • Karai will not be in control of the Foot and is instead held prisoner by the person who is--thus, while she'll be an integral part of the season, her actual appearances will be on the low side (think Casey and April in the fifth season). I mean, why else would the Foot Ninja be introduced before her?
  • We'll be seeing April and Casey tie the knot. Given what Stan Sakai has said of Usagi and Gen (warning, minor spoilers within); it seems to me that a wedding would be the most logical place for that to occur.
 
Why do all of these designs look the same? Like they stepped right out of the Batman: the Animated Series design book? Every character - even the turtles - are designed the exact same way. There's no originality to any of this. You could take the Foot Soldier, Casey and Baxter and overlay them on top of each other and the angular body structures would match up almost perfectly. It's like every character has the same body template. To me, all of this is incredibly boring. The original 1980s series wasn't great, but at least all the characters had real variety. This is just...bland.

These turtles look exactly the same. No seriously, there's no difference between them aside from their belts and clothing.

Now look at these turtles. All four turtles have different skin colors, different heights, and different builds (i.e., Raphael looks the most buff out of all the turtles, which is appropriate, considering his personality). From my point of view, these turtles are much more varied in their designs, and are actually probably the most varied turtles in the 2003 series to date.
 
You misunderstand me. What I'm saying is that the design template of all the characters - including the turtles - is pretty much the same, right down to the poses the characters are in. I agree each turtle looks a little different, but the basic character designs are not only repetitive but sorely stale. Pointed calves and elbows, chests thrust out, ams held back with the hands balled up in a fist, everything so coldly angular. There are other ways to design characters in action cartoons. These could easily be designs in a WB superhero show. Take Casey and slap a Batman costume on him and tell me he wouldn't look at home in a Bruce Timm show.

Well, these are only promotional images to tease the fans. When you actually see the show animated and in motion, things will probably look different.
 
I don't really see the problem.

Batman's designs looked really good in animation, even if I didn't like the actual design. I remember how they butchered Catwoman...I'm talking about TNBA here and not The Batman.
 
I know!! Robots must age like dogs in TMNT since when he first showed up he was pretty much a baby/pre-schooler, then he was like an elementary schooler, then a teenager and now he seems all grown up!:eek: I like all of their new desgins but, Raptar....he looks really different. :shrug: But I think I can deal with it.
