TMNT: Back to the Sewers Pre-talkback

I'm pretty excited too mainly because this feels like a fresh start for the series. Even though its keeping continuity with Seasons 1-6, it probably going to take the show in a new direction.

I actually hope we get a number of seasons out of this direction, and 4kids will probably want to keep the show alive until a movie sequel comes out at least. At this rate we probably won't see a new movie till late 2010 or 2011 considering its not even being worked on yet.

From what I've read on the various TMNT blogs, this season is darker than Fast Forward but a little lighter than 2k3.

I think what 4kids is really trying to do is to bring the same kind of humor into this one that the 80's TMNT had so its more popular with kids, yet still trying to keep it action-oriented and plot driven like Seasons 1-5 were.

One reason why FF got higher ratings is because kids were able to get into it and enjoy it more since it was light-hearted and a bit more like the 80's toon.

I don't think we'll ever go back to the tone of the 2k3 series, but as long as the stories are good and the fight scenes are well done, I won't complain.

TMNT is probably one of the best shows I watch of any of them I do (which is about 10 consisting of dramas, sitcoms, and poker). I really like the continuity and have followed all of the seasons, including the Ninja Tribunal, excluding Fast Forward. I just have really enjoyed the series.

I think people were disapointed with the Ninja Tribunal season for a couple reasons including little to no characterazation to the Tribunal/Accolytes, filler episodes in between, and no real resolution, but I really enjoyed it, especially the all out brawl between Shredder and all the other factions together.

Leatherhead/Hun VA change doesn't bother me one bit.

I eagerly anticipate Shredder's return in whatever form he comes back on. I never grow tired of a Turtles/Shredder fight no matter what capacity and incarnation Shredder is in. I do hope the utrom Shredder returns like the rumors said. Would really like to see a big brawl. Spiritual or Essence of Shredder in Ninja Tribunal didn't really know the Turtles, even though he still had a hatred for them. If Ch'erell comes back, you know he is going to be pissed off and want revenge not only against the utroms, but the turtles as well, and then maybe people won't complain about the "cop-out ending."

I just have a couple questions.

1. Has Bishop's immortality been discussed? As he is in Fast Forward and another episode in a Flashback where they showed him?
2. Has Rat King made more than one appearance?

I guess I will have to brush up on Fast Forward as I see it will continue its storylines going to the new series. The only thing I don't like is the actual eyeballs of the turtles. Kinda like just seeing the whites of the eyes when their ninja masks are on.

Well remember that there are three main parties (4kids, Playmates, and Mirage/Laird) all who need to be pleased with the product in one way or another, all who want different things. In some ways it's a surprise the show is continuing at all. The three groups are able to compromise and find something that pleases all parties.

I guess it's a good thing that the one thing all three parties agree on is they want the turtles to continue.

The 7th season will start with episode 143. So...if the 13-episode seasons continue, it should take another four seasons (including Back to the Sewers), to make it past the original.

1. He's immortal because he continually transfers his conciousness into clone bodies. It was brought out in one of the season 4 episodes.

2. Nope.

Aww man Canada isn't anywhere on that list. :( Well I'm sure that Teletoon may get this series if it proves popular and has another season. Thanks for the list anyway collector_cliff. ;)
