Episode 7.06 Identity Crisis
Original air date: Nov 1, 2008

Nobody made a talkback thread so here it is. Post away.

It was not bad. This season's plots feel like they are better suited for the old Turtles cartoon then for the 2k3 continuity but they have not been bad. I do like that the cyber world plays only a tiny part in most episodes even ones with Cyber Shredder in it, and that they seem to be gathering Splinter parts quite quickly.

Maybe by the end of the season, they'll have him back. After all, I doubt Splinter would want to miss April and Casey's wedding. The seven of them are family (I'm not counting Serling). I guess Cyber Shredder's main enemy besides the turtles are the Purple Dragons, which is why the tension for Hun betraying him.

this episode was pretty cool. i liked the costumes they had when they were hacked...hopefully we'll get some action figure versions of them! i really really liked the flashback "paintings" too, those were glorious. serling still sucks.

The flashback bits were by far the best part - any idea what the quick shot of Raph in pirate gear is referencing? I know not all of them pointed to past episodes, but that one just seemed very specific - and I don't recall it from anything that's come before.

This season's plots do feel a little more typically cartoon - Hacking Stockman is still the one that feels closest to the first five seasons. Do enjoy seeing Casey spotlighted, and in a competent fashion - for some of the early years he seemed to tag along on adventures with no real role.

I thought it was a far-flung reference to the Thing playing Blackbeard in one of the older Fantastic Four series. Maybe another Jack Kirby allusion...

Yes I too was reminded of my favorite TMNT game by that memory.

Also, the turtles all looked like Slash with those black masks and red glowing eyes. I wonder if that was an intentional throw-back.
