TLC HD - gone or never had?

I've seen several posts here referencing TLC HD as far back as December '08 on channel 826. I've never received this channel as far as I know. 826 is not in the "all channels" list on my receiver, nor is under the "all channels" list on Bell's web site (using the "What's on" link).

I do subscribe to the theme pack that has regular TLC.

So, does TLC HD exist or not? I've searched and perused here and couldn't find anyone complaining about it disappearing, so I'm confused.
 
Yes, it does exist. You need to subscribe to the HD theme pack that it is in to get it.
 
Ah okay thanks. From what I was reading I thought I would get the HD version of it if I had the regular HD channels and regular TLC. I guess not. :)

Still seems odd that 826 doesn't show up in the all channels list on my guide or on Bell's web site though.

Right now, I subscribe to digital standard plus 5 theme packs plus HD ($10), anyone know if I can take an HD theme pack in place of a regular theme pack?

This is the first I've seen these HD theme packs. They've obviously switched up their programming since we signed up.
 
You now don't need to have low def to get the high def programs and you won't get the hd progrmingif you have the ld. . Bell will switch you to more hd programing for the $10.00 but it has a different label - possible for price increases later. I dropped a low deff package to compensate the $ difference.

Ah, I see. I figured out that I can cancel my $10 HD package and take 4 HD theme packs instead and get TLC HD that way, and not really lose out on any HD channels (at least not lose any that we watch).

We're getting 5 LD theme packs for $23 right now and online it won't allow me to uncheck 2 of our theme packs (maybe because they aren't offered anymore?). Because if I can get TLC HD, I'd ditch my LD theme pack with low-def TLC.

I talked to an online rep via the chat option and they said TLC HD was a new channel so that is why it doesn't show up in the "all channels" list on the guide....I thought people here have had it since December? And even if it's new, it should still show up in the guide shouldn't it?
 
Unsubscribed channels often do not show up in the 'All Channels' guide. TLC HD was on free preview until the end of January. A subscription has been required since then. The same is true for Showcase HD.
 
I don't know why, but not all channels show up in the all channels list (I know, sounds stupid).
 
Which ones are you trying to uncheck?

For example, if you are currently subscribed to the SPORTS HD Theme pack, it wont allow you to "uncheck" Sports 1 SD Theme Pack as SPORTS HD Theme Pack requires that you have the Sports 1 SD. Same goes with More Sports HD, you need to have Sports 2 SD Theme pack.

Try removing Sports HD Theme pack first, then go back to unchecking in the SD Theme packs. (but remember, you are currently getting 4 HD Themes for $10, removing Sports HD means you are now paying $15 for 3 HD Theme Packs (as its $5/HD Theme or 4 HD Themes for $10) - an increase of $5 for removing an HD Theme.

When I tried online - it won't let you uncheck news and learning 1 and sports 1. So you can't switch to the new news and learning 1 online.
