okay, i'm not going to judge you or yell at you... but it sounds like you're jumping into something without the necessary information, and dog nutrition is one of my favorite subjects so here's my two cents:
if you are going to cook for your dog don't give it salt. dogs don't need seasonings. and the sodium in salt is terrible for them.
start with chicken, not beef. beef is much harder to digest. and bones are necessary if you aren't giving supplements. i would recommend a raw diet, personally. there are numerous groups here on yahoo that specialize in alternative feeding. Rawfeeding is my favorite group.
pedigree food is just as bad as basic dog chow. both have aided in the early deaths of many dogs.
boiled chicken is a good alternative if you are cooking for your dog, but the problem with cooked meat is that when you cook it you remove most of the nutrients, so you are depriving your dog of a lot. i would do chicken leg-quarters. you get the bone and meat all in one sitting, add some chicken livers to the mix occaisonally.
dogs don't have molars, so why are we giving them veggies and grains? in the wild they don't eat these things. they consume the stomachs of their prey, but not what is inside. dogs will graze, yes, but it is generally for the purpose of vomiting later.
there is a ton of info out there for you, and i think you should branch away from the yahoo answers page and look for some professional advice. we can type until our fingers fall off, but relying on the good will of strangers will only get you so far.
