Titanic.

It sailed from Southampton on 10th April, 1912. It stopped at Cherbourg in France and Queenstown in Ireland before setting sail across the Atlantic. It was due to arrive in New York on 17th April, 1912.
 
My local shopping centre has a wall painting of the Titanic (think it's cos the captain was from Stoke-On-Trent) it's not really very nice as it has people falling off the ship.

I've always wondered why they found it neccessary to paint a picture of people falling to the their deaths :rolleyes:

Still, loving BBC2 for showing this again :o
 
I love the film. The script is apalling, yes, and the way James Cameron characterized the real-life passengers and crew was horrible...but I love Kate Winslet, and the special effects still hold up very well. It was amazing to watch in the cinema, I saw it four times.

It's a nice movie to watch if you switch off your brain and don't take it seriously. If nothing else, it's an exceptionally beautiful looking film, with the sets, costumes, etc. The "I'm flying" scene is so gorgeous to look at, however cheesy it is.
 
to personalise the lives of everyone who died. whilst you may not have cared about Jack and Rose that much, by at least having some characters to do that, i suspect played a big part in why the final scenes were as moving as they were.

Why didnt they just leave the lifeboats on deck, and as the ship sinks the lifeboats would reach water level.

See if I was on that ship, everyone would have survived :D
