Titanic was such a fantatsic movie...

The sinking of the Titanic was emblematic of people about to lose its faith in technology with the coming of world war 1. It was also a microcosm of society at that time with the great and good cheek by jowl with the huddled masses.

It was a good film but ruined by having that blond little rat boy playing the lead. NOBODY looked like that in Edwardian times.

There wasn't a local dry cleaners either.

I would have loved the film if the Terminator  was zapped in it. But hey, that's just me.

The reason the film is by far the highest grossing movie ever is because people went back to see the movie time and time again. So, while it might not be cool for people to admit they like it, you obviously aren't alone Jacco.

I really like the film and the music (not talking about Celine Dion's warbling rendition btw) is haunting and gives the film an atmospheric feel.

I wonder if that was any comfort to the people who died. "Well, I may be about to freeze to death and drown in the middle of the atlantic, but at least my life won't be lost in vain as I will be emblematic of people losing their faith in technology with the coming of World War One".

I should have put a ;) or possibly a :p after my original post to show I was just talking in jest! Of course, I agree with you; the sinking of Titanic, whilst being a human tragedy for those poor unfortunates on board, has also become a very significant and symbolic event.

hunni bunni Whats Eating Gilbert Grape is one of my favourite films Leo does an excellent job in that film.

As for Titanic I'm not ashamed to say it's one of my favourite movies. I think Kate Winslet does a great job in one of her first major film roles, and Leo is brilliant as well. There are a few green screen moments which are a bit offy but you do tend to get that in a lot of films. I know the whole of Titanic word for word I annoy the hell out of everyone when I watch it! I think the sinking and effects are great the orchestral type soundtrack is great and the love story is totally believable.

"Just the other night, I was sleeping under a bridge, and now here I am, on the grandest ship in the world having champagne with you fine people."

Now please dont start going mad at me or anything but why did you have to say Was?, so are you now saying it is now longer a good film? please help me out here.
