Titanic on BBc1

Well i love it :) Brought tears to my eyes (as usual).

I watched independance day on dvd the other day, i still get goospimples and i still jump when that aliens head bursts open !!!

Anyone agree that they don't make they "end of the world" movies the same these days?

I actually think she did die. Jacks soul and many others went down with the Titanic, and at the end Rose went to join her true love. The ending suggested they were finally reunited after all these years.

i registered just to explain what jack meant by nickel odeon but it took so flipping long that someone else got there first.

and i vaguely remember commenting around christmas time about seeing a louis vitton bag in some film where it was long before its time.

not sure now if it was Titanic or some other film based around 1912. silly isn't it.

maybe louis vitton bags weren't as commonly recognisable in 1997 so they thought it would be fine to use it, and it just looked like the style of bag around in 1912

The sinking of The Titanic was a terrible thing, all those women and children crushed, drowned and frozen to death. What better way to get this across by having a hammy rich girl meets poor boy love story. Mr Cameron should get together with Mr Stone who's making a 9/11 movie. The guy, played by the versatile Vince Vaughn has a job in one of the towers, the girl, played by the expressive Scarlett Johansson, works in the other. Osama, played by Alan Rickman, launches his attack. Can he get to her in time? Box office gold!

"Titanic was originally shot in 4:3 for TV exhibition"

I DONT THINK SO.

Titanic was shot in 70mm PANAVISION WIDESCREEN

so it could not possibly have an aspect ratio of 4:3

the side of the picture has to be cropped to show it in 16:9 widescreen TV.

I always thought she was dreaming, due to the fact that the films Theme tune - My Heart will go on clearly states thats 'every night in my dreams, I see you, I feel you."

I think if she had died, they would have made it a bit more definate. Also, how do people dream once they're worm food?????
If she was going to Heaven, surely her husband and other people from her life would be there, not just some people she knew from a few days on a ship - including her fiance who she disliked!!

Glad I got that off my chest!

Pet hate of mine, chopping the sides off, even when shown in "widescreen". Can't believe the top and bottom were chopped off as well though; seems most unlikely.

Absolutely wonderful film; don't think I've ever known a 3 hour film whizz by so quickly. I originally saw it at the Odeon Leicester Square on its opening weekend. There was an organist playing before the film started. The cinema was packed, everyone was silent, and at the end everyone applauded.
