What do you make of this? If it is true, will you go to see it? I must admit, Titanic is one of my favourite films of all time..:o but not sure how it'll look in 3D. Wish they would have released it on blu-ray instead. Now that would have been amazing!:D:o

It's shown quite often in high definition on Sky Movies if you want to see the difference between SD and HD versions of it. In fact I think Channel 4 showed it in high definition some time over the last couple of weeks as well.

He mentioned it months ago that he might be turning Titanic 3D for a new *cough* money grabbing *cough* release. There is a comic book covention video interview where he mentions it alongside Lord of the Rings getting a 3D release.

I'll ask in here instead of making one topic, if you buy a ticket for a 3D film and you have to come out after say 15 minutes of watching it because you feel ill from the effects, where do you stand getting money back for the ticket if you don't go back in?

I read about this a year ago. I hope it happens. I would pay to see it again. Not my fav movie ever but it's a classic and I can't say i haven;t enjoyed it all the times i've seen it.

I don't see conversion into 3D being very good. I saw clash of the titans which was filmed in 2D and converted after and it was rubbish, utterly pointless.

wow yeah, glaring errors... i mean not using the correct font for the 'C' in titanic was a real conitinuity disaster

cameron should be hung, drawn and quartered, thats unforgiveable

Utterly pointless and clearly just for the cash. Avatar is also being re-released in cinemas with a massive 8 minutes extra. Incidentally, both Cameron's films and both the highest grossing films ever.

You can't really blame him though can you. If i'd made a film as expensive and popular as Avatar and there was still a demand for people to see it on the big screen then i think i'd want the film re-released to hoover up as much additional cash as possible. Cameron has actually said that he thinks the film would have crossed the $3 Billion mark were it not for 'Alice in Wonderland' taking over most of it's screens.

As for Titanic in 3D, i'm sure if anyone can convert it properly, Cameron can. That said, i wouldn't be in a rush to see it, but if he converted Terminator 2 to 3D i'd be there on day one! The 'Clash of the Titans' 3D conversion was a rush job (8 weeks supposedly), and it showed.

i am suprised with this news, as it was Cameron who was the first to criticize the Clash of the Titans' type of films that are rendered into 3d, instead of the filmed in 3d type of films, like Avatar.
