SpineAZ: Do you still have your hardware in place at L5-S1? From 1987.
I have problems at L5-S1 all the time.Unless I start having pain all the time at the site, my doctor says to leave the hardware in. Usually every 2 months I go to doctor and get a medrol dose pack for a week. It really helps for a couple of weeks.
I still work. Am very active except when my back gets me down.
How many fusions have you had? Did your doctor tell you that the 1st one contribute to the next one and the next one. My doctor says that there is so much more pressure put on all disks after you have a fusion.

I had hardware from L4-S1. In order to fuse L3 to L4 he had to remove the old hardware, and put in new hardware. I have two roRAB and then screws at L3, L4, and S1. My L5 are awkward in that they won't accept the hardware.

If you are not recovered, you have to let the surgeon know "I understand that the tests show nothing but there's clearly an issue. I need you to work with me so that I don't go back to work too early".
SpineAZ: "This statement from you is ringing true". I thought I was on my way to recovery but after I finished taking sterioRAB my symtoms came back. This morning I can't hardly bend. I should say I can bend but can't get up.
The ruptured disk I had repaired (L3-L4) is starting to burn again like before.
I woke up this morning and told my stepson that it looks like a good day for a suicide. He thought I was serious. I was just kidding. It is very depressing though.
Couldn't sleep last night. Called the doctor but haven't heard back yet. Hope to get in sometime next week. :(........
