Tired and bad headaches after eating

I'm 18 years old, female, 5'2 at 105 lbs.
Starting about a year ago I've become increasingly anxious and depressed, and after eating I get a headache and become extremely sleepy. If I take a nap it makes my headache worse. Any ideas on what the problem could be? I'm normally a very chipper person with lots of energy, and when I become hungy I become very irritable

Hi and I know you are petite, but 105 sounds a little light to me.Depression can cause headaches and sleepiness as can allergies and many other things.Go to a regular doctor and have some blood work done.they cancheck iron levels, blood sugar levels and all sorts of things.Have them check for mono, epstein barr and anyhting else you can think of.I dont know why eating would cause tiredness other than problems with blood glucose as in maybe Hypoglycemia.Soooooo many things can cause these symptoms that is why it is best to have some blood work done.how about the thyroid too?Any other symptoms you can think of??I hope you feel better soon and start to enjoy your life. You are tooo young to be worried about such issues.Wishing you good health and happiness.keep us posted.Seems like Sunday after noons are quiet on this site.I just joined this past week.Still getting used to the site.Seems very helpful. :0)

Becoming irritable when hungry is a sign of low blood sugar -be sure to eat a steady amount of protein throughout the day. As far as getting a headache and tired after eating, what are you eating? Food intolerances can most definitely cause the exact symptoms you describe. Do you eat alot of gluten (wheat), dairy, soy or corn?

The only problem with food allergies I've had in the past was lactose intolerance as a baby, but I grew out of it. I'll start keeping a log of what I eat and the symptoms I get though. I travel a lot for work, so I don't have much time to go to the doctor, but It'll be at the top of my to-do list when I get home. Do you think it's possible I have a blood pressure problem at 18?

You definitely can have blood pressure problems at any age.I would think with you being a light weight,it would be maybe too low.You can also have a slow pulse.Best to get checked out.just at a regular doctor where they can check your pressure, blood, pulse.I was pretty light when I was younger also.i am about 117-125 now, give or take and I do have high blood pressure.I actually did have trouble starting with it as young as 20 and I only weighed about 105 at the time.I think it was from bad anxiety,a stressful job where I worked midnight shift andd the beginning of my fibromylagia.I tthink my fibro plays a big role in me having high blood pressure.I have to take meds for this all. That is why it is so important to journal.Write down when you notice everything. You can take that into the doctors and that can be a tremendous help to your diagnosis.I soooo hope you feel better soon! :0)
