Tire has fallen off the rim?

Hi!
I was driving on the road when I pulled out from my neighborhood to turn right onto a highway. I think I might have taken off too fast because when I pulled out I automatically heard a strange noise. I pulled off about an eighth of a mile to the next pullover I could find. When I got out I saw what seemed to be the tire had fallen off the rim. It was not ripped or totally flat. After changing out the tire, I inspected the tire for nails or something related but could not find anything. The tire is probably about two months old. I'm trying to figure out if it could maybe have been the mechanics who put on the tire did it wrong or if it is possible that I turned too hard and too fast that I could have done it. I figure that a close to new tire should most likely have been able to handle a lot more then turning a little too hard.

Also-is there anyway I could possibly fix the tire on my own?
I look foward to all of your answers.
