I just joined the schooling team and I have to know how to do all these things. I know the basics, but is there anything that the websites dont say? little tricks and tips would be a lifesaver. thanks!

These things are all easy, clipping the bridle path is very simple, you take sissors and cut it as short as possible behind the ears, then you take a pair of clippers and shave off the rest. Grooming is also simple, first start with a metal curry comb, work from the neck to it's butt. Then use a hard bristle brush, and brush from neck to but, then use a soft brush to finish of the face and legs. Use a comb to comb out mane ane tail. If the tail or mane is tangled, use baby oil to work it out. I hope i helped you a little, if you have any more questions email me, i know millons of things about horses and such thanks bye.

if a horse is scared of water, especially being TOUCHED by it, God forbid, spray its hooves first, the least sensetive place. then slowly make your way up the front legs, then shoulder, back and rump.
if you're doing any clipping or pulling, make sure that the mane is completely tangle free...
when you pick the horse's hooves, go in the same order every day. then they can expect to know where you are.

Run the clippers for a minute before using them and hold them near the horse so you can be sure that he will not spook and injure himself or you. Allow the horse to give them a good look and move them toward the horse slowly if he shows signs of fear.

Have a bucket of warm soapy water and a sponge ready to clean the horse's face because most will not appreciate the hose coming anywhere near their heads, god forbid their ears. Similarly to the clippers, turn on the hose and hold it out for the horse to investigate before spraying, and lightly spray the horse's legs first to make sure he will not react in a way that is dangerous.
