Tips to help get the car out?

Yesterday in colorado we got a HUGE snow storm. My sisters boyfriend stayed the night and he has a little car. He hasn't gotten his snow tires on and now he's stuck and can't get out. My sister is freakin out because we don't know how to get the car out. Is there anything we can do?
 
is it below freezing? depending on where the car is, you can use water hose to melt the snow. i don't suggest using it if its below freezing. OR shovel out the recovery attach point and jerk it out with a 4wd
