I will be a first time mother in December and am looking for information on what to look for when buying the first infant car seat. I have looked at several websites and understand that they are chosen based on the baby's weight? I've seen some car seats that say you can use them up to 80 pounds. I'm not sure if it would be better to get an infant seat and upgrade as baby grows or if this would be an okay way to go. I've also seen information about expiration dates on car seats. I'm not sure what this is about. If anyone could give me tips on choosing car seats, things that have worked for them, or help me find what I may be looking for, I would appreciate any tips.
