Tips for argueing my way to a better grade in Art 1?

I'm a freshman, and my first semester grade in Art 1 is a C. Which isn't acceptable in my family. I plan on going to talk to him before report cards go out, but need some witty, sensible things to say. I was only late on one assignment, so he's really onlly grading on my lack of artistic ability. Anything revolving around that works. Any suggestions? Please leave out any stupid responses I could've thought of myself.

Most teachers won't go back into the grading system and change your grade just because you want them to. If you feel there was a mistake on a grade, bring up that specific grade and why it was unfair. If you feel that your grade is based accurately upon your work then that sucks for you. You just need to accept the consequences and do better next time. Life is about decisions and consequences for those decisions (whether good or bad). All you can do is ask the teacher for possible extra credit work. Ask him if there is any extra work you can do to possibly bring your grade up before report cards go out. It's really up to him if he will allow that.

First ask him why you have a C in that class. If he says you have missing work or something tell him you did that work with proof (idk what kinda proof you have). Tell him you think its unfair that he is grading you based on your artistic ability especially if it's Art 1 (which from my perspective is beginning art). If report cards are coming soon (let's say this week) then your grade won't change but tell him to write a note to your parents excactly WHY you have a C. Maybe it's reasonable because he might grade you on effort in your work.
Hope I helped
please answer my latest question! =)
