I have a debate on wednesday, in the Britsh Parlimentary style.. so.. we don't know our opposition, our topic or anything we have a day to prepare... the theme(not the motion) is moral and religion.. this is my first debate technically.. and i have to speak in front of hundreds of people.. i'm very soft spoken also..
i'm the second speaker.. another thing is that i always remain clam.. even if i'm angry.. is that a down?
please help..i have to prove myself here.. because everyone seems to think that i don't belong there, coz i'm soft and stuff...it's getting to me.. this is my only chance..please..
There are PoI s (points of information).. What if i break down??

Knowing how to debate is a very good skill to have. First of all, don't let your personality and what others think of you pull you down. You have to realize that this is a learning experience. We all have to learn from somewhere so might as well start from somewhere! Another thing, don't stress... think about how you would normally debate with your younger sibilings and keeping that in mind... make sure you are able to present arguments that back-up your claim and what you are saying! Other than that, I wish you all the best!

The key in debating is to make the people think your right or that you know what your talking about, even if you have no idea. Stick to your guns and go with it. Confidence goes a long way. Practice in front of a mirror. Use hand motions and emotion in your voice.

Be confident.

When you start ...start with full cofidence.

Don't look into the eyes of your friends at the very begining... it might make your concentration week.

All the best.....
