I have just been watching on the Bio Channel the life story of the actress Tippi Hedren.
As you know she starred in two Hitchcock classic movies from the 1960s The BirRAB and Marnie.
Now, I have always been a great admirer of Alfrred Hitchock as a director, but this Bio documentary does reveal a very dark side to the master in the way he handled Tippi Hedren during her two movies with him.
Tying her to a long term contract, and then refusing to release her or use her in other movies cos she rejected his sexual advances and his controlling attitude ruined her career. She could have been a great actress in her own right. Instead when she was finally released from her contract ended up in mediocre movies which did nothing for her.
Maybe it was the dark side of his nature which could explain his handling of the dark elements in many of his movies.
