I posted last time that Iambic had "resurrected" Tiny Sheet, and come out with TS 5. Now 5.02 not only fixes several small glitches, but there is a new installer as well. I usually uninstall and reinstall the app, but decided to just "reinstall" the new one over the old - worked fine.
It fixes not being able to access the SynchManager from Excel (a problem I had) - and several fixes on the handheld. Not being a fan of the "Iambic installer" system (started I think with AGendus some time back) - I can see how it actually makes things easier.
Pulled TinySheet out of flash and back in RAM, ran the installer, checked the TinySheet SynchManager still had all its settings (it did) - hotsynched - it sked if I wanted to overwrite and I said "yes to all" - and that was it. I noticed inthe past you'd lose the "categories" for your spreadsheets on the Palm but nothing else - this time even that minor "fix" didn't have to be done.
The fixes on the handheld will be more apparent (fixing font changes over several cells not "sticking," apparently - I found that a couple of times with 5.01).
So it's a good night in Palm-land for us non "D2Go-ers" that went back to "old TinySheet." It's not so old any more - and I really like the new 5.0 that's been out a while, and the upgrade is worth getting for BOTH installer/desktop and the handheld app. Be sure and upgrade both, and not assume it's only "handheld application" fixes.
You're now given a choice of languages at install by the way, but know that the other versions of the handheld application (German, Spanish, I think Japanese, 1-2 others) go in to the iambicsoftware programs folder anyway, along with a 550k PDF manual. I delete those and free up nearly 2MB, but you may want to leave them. Just FYI.
