man, this is frustrating. why couldn't they keep the option of turning off DST?
the patch that was available for the N80 worked without any problems, except that the N80 still has the text message timestamp issue. all messages received are off by 'x' amount of hours.
i'm still waiting for a reply from Nokia to see what they have to say about this issue.
as 'ab0rt' stated here and other thread(s), changing your timezone to one that doesn't have any effect from DST (ie. GMT/UTC +00:00) will 'solve' the timestamp problem on messages and will still allow you to change the time manually.
any other members having this type of problem with their handset & provider? or is this only N80's and Fido/Rogers.. (mainly talking about the timestamp issue).
temporary fix would be to change your timezone to "Reykjav?k, Iceland" so it's '+00:00' then manually set the proper time.
edit: i did a quick search and found that some members have/had this problem with their past phones. i know that auto updating the time with the network (fido/rogers) has never worked for me, so that's always off. but i've never had this problem with any of my other phones (6620, 6630, 6670..)
